Course Overview
Mobius Institute VCAT I gives you the practical foundation for vibration analysis and the knowledge you will build on as you progress toward Category II.
VCAT I covers the fundamentals of vibration, dependable data collection, basic spectra and waveform analysis, and recognition of common machinery faults.
Registered students receive access to the Mobius Learning Zone for pre-study, course videos and post-course review.
Good data first
Learn how to collect measurements you can trust.
Build the Category I foundation
Learn the core vibration principles, spectra, waveforms and analyzer settings that later Category II training builds on.
Recognise common faults
Start identifying vibration patterns associated with common machinery problems.
Waveforms, spectra, amplitude and the vibration terms used in condition monitoring.
Where to measure, how to mount sensors and how to collect dependable, repeatable data.
Recognise unbalance, misalignment, looseness, bearing faults and resonance.
Understand the basic plots used to view and interpret vibration data.
Learn the basics of Fmax, resolution and averaging and why the settings matter.
See how vibration analysis supports a wider machinery reliability program.
